What Is The Lightsabers?
The Lightsabers is a dynamic group within HCM's Children’s Ministry, that represents children who boldly shine God’s light and stand strong in their faith. Just like lightsabers cut through darkness, these young believers are learning to use the Word of God, prayer, and love to impact the world around them. They’re encouraged to be brave, kind, and full of Truth as they grow in their walk with Jesus.
Their mission is to let the light of Jesus shine brightly through them in everything they do, at home, at school, at church and in the world around them.

Who We Are
At The Lightsabers, we believe that faith should be vibrant, active, and relevant to every part of your life. That’s why our weekly gatherings are designed to be both fun and meaningful, combining lively worship, engaging Bible teaching, and real conversations about life’s challenges. We dive deep into God’s Word to help you understand how to apply it in your daily walk.
Beyond our meetings, we actively serve both our church family and the wider community through various outreach projects, giving back and making a difference. We also host special events, camps, and retreats that provide opportunities for spiritual growth, adventure, and building strong, lasting friendships.
Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every young person can discover their identity in Christ and learn how to shine His light in the world around them.
What We Do
The Lightsabers is a vibrant team of young leaders in HCM’s Children’s Ministry who are passionate about serving God and making church exciting and welcoming for all kids. They are role models who help lead worship, guide younger children, pray for others, run activities, and support the flow of each service. Whether it's greeting new faces, setting up games, or leading by example, the Lightsabers bring energy, love, and leadership to every part of the children’s experience at HCM.
Leading the Lightsabers is Pastor Cassandra Taylor, the Youth Pastor. She provides direction, training, and spiritual guidance to the team, helping them grow in leadership and faith. Prophetess Dr. Julie Jamerson, serves as part of this dynamic team, helping organize lessons, activities, and creative ways to connect with the children. Minister DeVaughn Jamerson, also serves in a similar capacity and focuses on mentoring older children, building meaningful relationships, and encouraging spiritual growth.
Together, this team equips the Lightsabers to shine the light of Christ in everything they do, creating a space where all children feel loved, valued, and excited to grow in their faith.
